This was my first “advanced” paint by numbers, and I did not expect it to turn out so well. It looks just as advertised! Painting by numbers like this is a rather relaxing, meditative activity that can easily be done while chatting with friends or listening to music. This painting took me 11.5 hrs total to finish, but it is very easy to stop whenever you want and simply pick back up later. I had MORE than enough paint of each color and did not come close to running out. This particular sunflower painting uses a lot of odd, unique colors that somehow gel harmoniously with each other. It was fascinating to watch it all come together in the end. I bought the version that came pre-stretched over a wood frame, but honestly I found that I preferred painting with it flat on a table rather than propped on an easel. The numbers and shapes are printed on the canvas quite darkly which makes them easy to see but difficult to cover with certain colors (whites, yellows, and oranges). If you obsessively want to obscure every line then you will be applying 3-4 coats of some colors (but again, there is plenty of paint to do so). Also the small paint cups do require some force and dexterity to open which could be difficult for youngsters, people with arthritis, and such. Give it a try, and hopefully you will be as impressed as I was!

The kit is well put together and had plenty of paint. The canvas arrives folded but I found it easy to get out the creases with a little water and ironing on the wrong side. I like that the lines on the kit aren’t in super dark gray so they are easily covered. The brushes are cheap and a second small brush may be helpful to finish out the project. This was my first project and I enjoyed it. Do I want to display finished products in my home? Not really, but it was so much fun I’ve already bought two more Paint by Number kits.

This was bought for a nine year old. They were able to do it by themselves, although it didn’t turn out quite perfect they loved doing it. Also, they did 2-3 coats but you could still see some of the numbers and lines…a close up photo is included so you can see. From far away, you can’t tell.
The product comes folded in a small box. You need to iron it. It will probably still have some creases after ironing like ours did after ironing several times. The cotton/linen canvas measured 22 1/4 inches X 18 1/4 inches.
There were three paint brushes and enough paint. It also came with a smaller version of the paint by number on a piece of paper to color in.

Do not purchase these canvases on “paint by number “ or †epacific mallâ€. Idid and it has been six weeks plus without even a shipping notice. I ordered on Amazon and twice I received the canvas in two days. You guessed it, the other order is shipped from China so I doubt I will ever see them. Although I have not painted the canvases I found the canvas to be very good quality, sturdy and well stamped with the paint pattern. These are not your growing up paint by number kits. They are for adults, complex and intricate. The paints are well sealed, there is no excess , but I expect there is adequate paint. The brushes are packaged well and protected. It will take committment and time to complete but I expect it to be worth it and a great production.

So we did this 32X48 painting… and it was pretty easy. I’m excited to do another. It turned out well. I was really nervous because it contains cutting, and theirs no going back from that. We framed a large painting and it was necessary To have two people and a staple gun. Less then five stars are for the poor directions. And the staples they give you punch through the made holes on the wood stretcher bars and puncture the canvas. Just make your own hole by hammering them in. They go in easy. But all in all it turned out great, kinda fun and saved a bunch of money.

It’s amazing! I never really got into the whole adult coloring phase, it just stresses me out and my pictures never turned out amazing like other people’s lol but this is very simple and it comes out very pretty! It’s easy to do because you don’t have to worry about picking colors you just paint. I got one for me and my sister and we spend a few hours on it almost everyday! It slowly but surely comes together! I really recommend this product. ALSO I noticed a few people complaining about the fact that it’s folded, however it was gently folded and it’s still easy to paint. The paint dries fast so I tend to just fold it up and stick it in my purse with one of the paint strips and the brushes it’s nice. When you’re done you can frame it and it’s fine, also if you’d like you can flip it over before you paint and iron the back of it to get the creases out.

You need to know when you do these paint by numbers pictures that it is going to be a slow, tedious process. If you like hobbies like hard jigsaw puzzles, cross stitching, building and painting models, or any projects that require patience and delayed gratification, then you will like this. I find it a soothing way to unwind.
I will say that the paint colors for this painting are not as vibrant as the picture, though they are still pretty. And the brushes are pretty cheap. But for the price, it’s a great set, and you can always grab a brush or two of better quality so you don’t frustrate yourself trying to work with the ones provided. Especially since most of the numbered sections in this particular picture are very small.

I bought the framed version and I’m glad I did.My kit had a stretched canvas with clear print, a finished image and a diagram, thick good quality acrylic paint, a hardware kit for hanging and three brushes.The numbers are easy to read,the brushes it comes with are perfect for all the various sizes of sections that need to be covered in paint. This set is great! I was very surprised when I opened it to see that each comes individually wrapped with its necessary tools. The canvas, which is great, is large. This is the best thing ever. These are huge and on actual canvas. And they turn out incredible. Numbers are easy to read and canvas is sturdy. Paints have good coverage and paintbrushes are good. A 7 year old painted the Monkey and a 9 year old painted the Tiger. The Tiger was definitely harder and required more patience. We almost ran out of green paint for the monkey but we did make it. There was plenty of paint for all the other colors. There was no paint mixing needed. Each painting came with 2 paintbrushes, both with relatively small tips. We ended up using our own paintbrushes. The directions were in awkward English, as others have mentioned, but this type of painting project doesn’t require much in the way of directions. The paintings each came with 2 hangers and screws. The hanging hardware for the Tiger painting was bigger than the hardware for the monkey. Both kids really enjoyed the painting and want to do more at some point
