These frame kits are pretty awesome. I considered trying to make some myself on the table/chop saw, but this was so much easier. The instructions could have been a little bit clearer, but I was able to decipher them pretty quick and was off and running. I framed up two canvasses rather quickly (20 mins, including figuring everything out). I did find that taking a small lamp and shining it through the front of the canvas let me see through the back to help me mark where my art began/ended and made placing the lengths of wood a lot easier. Once I got these bad boys put together, they were really solid and my canvas was taught. Plus, they fit perfectly into a frame I purchased elsewhere. Overall, I’d totally buy these again. Great stuff.

Very pleased with this product. After reading other reviews, I ordered the 14×18 size for my 23.25×18.25 canvas. I could have gone down another inch on each side, since there is a little white showing around the sides (only about half the thickness of the frame), but it’s not super noticeable and it doesn’t take away from the overall look. I have never stretched a canvas before and was a little worried, but the instructions were clear and simple and it ended up being very easy. I would definitely buy this product again.

This was fairly easy to assemble. However, I wish there had been more clarity regarding placing the wooden bars with the sticky side facing OUT. One might think this would be self-explanatory, but I managed still to stick one of the bars on facing the wrong direction – this stuff does stick to the canvas so well, though, that I was unable to take it off and fix it. My own problem, but at least I learned how strong the glue is! The only other thing that was confusing to me was attaching the hooks to hang it on the wall. There were no instructions for that part, so I ended up just sticking thumb tacks in my wall and hanging the canvas on that. Knocking off a star just for the lack of clear instructions for some aspects of assembly. Otherwise, it’s great!

I iron my canvas before painting to remove wrinkles. My painting sizes are 16 x 20 inches and the canvas border is not sufficient to properly fit the 16×20 frame. My favorite yet,I knew I was going to love this one and it didn’t disappoint. The colors are so vibrant, actually better than what the picture depicted. I finished and the colors are way off from what they are supposed to be. (first picture is original) And I had to make an orange for myself to use as I ran out because the canvas kept bleeding thru on that specific color provided. Canvas bled thru bout half the colors. Still a nice picture but the colors bother me as I know what they’re supposed to be. But the quality of canvas and speed of shipping give it a higher review would have been a 3 if not for that

The reviews seem to be exaggerating a bit in terms of difficulty… I don’t have a staple gun and it came together just fine, wood fit together great, consistency of parts is not perfect but for the price paid and time spent (15 min) can’t be beat.
The biggest problem is the wood tension reinforcements, those don’t fit in the wood very well at all but with superglue it’s ok.

This design’s so nice and soothing. The color combination is gorgeous, and there’s plenty of little details to paint that will keep you entertained for hours.
I have amassed quite the collection of paint-by-number kits during the pandemic (I find painting without having to think much, just following the instructions very relaxing) and normally DIY kits are a bit above average quality: the designs are printed on a nice white canvas and the outlines are not too bold, so they can be covered nicely with the paint. The quality of the paints is average (nice colors but the light ones are too thin and you’ll need to apply several layers). The brushes are flimsy: they do the job, but if you plan on doing more than one paint, get yourself a nicer set of miniature brushes. Now, what could be improved: the canvas comes folded, so you’ll have to iron it, and there’s no schematic included, which is annoying because sometimes you need to check back on numbest for sections that have been partially painted.

I love paint by number kits! I used to think they were just for kids but these can be so relaxing in these crazy times. This one looks great and I love that it came with it’s own frame (although figuring out how to put it together can be a bit challenging as there were no instructions for it). There’s plenty of paint and I am looking forward to hours of fun. I do wish the canvas was a bit bigger so I can see the numbers clearer but I usually take a few photos of the canvas with my phone before I start so I can zoom in on numbers and on the rare occasion I mess up I can go back and see where I went wrong. Also at the end if you need to touch up a color you know exactly which color to use!
I would love to see the ‘canvas’ rolled up completely in the future as it helps eliminate creases and bends in the edges of the canvas. Right now I have to flatten out the creases and the bent edges before I start painting.

 I bought this Frank S. Burton DIY painting kit to give me a productive activity that doesn’t involve being my phone. The kit comes with a large canvas imprinted with a black outline image of an elephant. Each area to be painted is marked with a number. That number corresponds to a numbered paint pot of a specific color. There are 3 brushes — 1 standard flat brush, 1 ultra find point, and 1 fine point. Before painting, get a small cup of water for cleaning the brushes and some paper towels. There are 4 sets of paint pots of multiple colors. The paint is water based, yet thick and quick drying. It best to close a pot immediately after use, so the paint doesn’t dry out.
There is also a paper version of the image to reference when matching the number of an area to the corresponding numbered paint pot. It’s best to start at the top of the canvas and paint from top to bottom. This elephant image is quite complex, so I plan to paint it slowly. Clean up is easy because I just use soap and water to clean my hands and the brushes.
This is a very affordable kit for gifting yourself or someone. After you’re finished, you have an art piece to frame and hang. It’s relaxing; plus it develops eye hand coordination and exercises the brain!
