This was so easy to assemble and make a canvas look professional. I used it to frame a paint by number canvas. Like other reviewers complained the staples are stuck together – I used a flat head screw driver to break them apart (butter knife or any flat object would work) which wasn’t a big deal and far from “defectiveâ€.

This was a little bit more expensive and somewhat mixed reviews, although mostly positive. The canvas came very fast, packaged well, with a photo of the finished painting (not just my photo), the canvas with a VERY detailed guide, as well as a paper version in case some sections get painted over. The paints themselves haven’t been opened, but look nice and seem to be accurate in color. The detail on the canvas looks amazing – the sections all seem to be labeled.

Very nice easy frame kit for canvas. We only had 2 problems. We measured the actual picture area before we bought the frame and thought we had plenty of extra canvas around it, but the frame was wider than we anticipated and we could only use adhesive on the wide ends. Also our staples weren’t separating. We finally used floss in between them and that did the trick. Love the framed canvas, it looks great and was very easy to use.

I saw many people write that they ran out of paint.. I believe that to properly do any paint by numbers, you should definitely add a little water to the paints.. but this painting is fantastic! Only complaint I have, is that some of the numbers are not printed clearly on the canvas or on the “guideâ€. You kind of just need to wing it with some of the smaller spots.

I did get this on sale – not sure if I would’ve paid full price BUT! it’s really amazing. I sent in a photo of our dog and it came with stretched canvas, all the paints, brushes, a guide, and photo of what it will look like when it’s done. I really enjoyed this paint-by number sunflower picture. The colors are rich & vibrant and there was plenty of paint. I bought this already stretched and stapled to a wood frame. It’s easier to work with instead of just a canvas that might arrive folded in which case, you will have to iron out the creases. You can bring the paint right up to the edge and when you’re done, you are done. I’m very happy with the way it turned out.

Most of the paint-by-numbers kits I have seen are on a sort of drafting paper but there is some long-term value for this kit with it being on canvas. The quality once I finish will be much higher than just if it were on paper.
It was also helpful that they provided three paint brushes so that I can use different colors for dark and light sections of the painting. I’m so excited to finish this one up!

The product description makes this sound like a fun painting kit with everything. That is not the case. This is an involved project. If you like an involved painting project then this will be fun for you. If you want something like what you did as a child, you may want to look elsewhere. How nice the finished product will look depends on how well you prepare and your level of commitment.
PREPARE TO:
– The photo of the final product is small, you may want to make a larger copy
– This comes folded and wrinkled, gently iron it flat
– mount it on some sort of a frame BEFORE painting
– watch a couple online videos (youtube) before attempting this
– have a bit of paint thinner on hand
– get some more brushes
– NOTE: If you do not prepare yourself and the canvas BEFORE you paint, it will not look nice
QUALITY NOTES:
+ Once prepared, the canvas is good
+ The brushes will last long enough to finish this picture if you are careful
+ If you are careful, the paint will likewise last
– If you like to use a lot of paint or enjoy texture, get some more paint
– The colors are numbered only and there is NO color guide so if you need more paint (there is only a little of each) then you will need to mix the colors by sight.

I bought these to augment and replace the brushes that you get with paint-by-numbers. There are two brushes smaller than the smallest you get with the kits, which makes detailed paint-by-numbers much easier to handle and complete. I wouldn’t recommend these for serious artists, but for hobbyists like myself, they are perfectly adequate and serve their purpose nicely at a very low cost.
