Easy enough for my 7 year old and my 12 year old niece. It was fun and only took about an hour or 2. A couple leaves weren’t numbered, so they just made them whatever color they wanted so it wasn’t a big deal. Fun and nice that it’s already on a framed canvas.

I’m about halfway through. The paint pots seemed very small and first but they will clearly carry me through to the end. That said, have patience! This is a small painting with lots of tiny leaves and stems. Unless you get your own super fine brushes, you’ll have a nice piece but no way you’ll be able to stay “perfectly” in the lines. That said, I’m a novice painter.

As stated by other reviewers, the kit gives you a bright purple where it should be black or a very dark brown. I solved this issue by mixing together equal parts purple with my darkest green and darkest brown (#7 &8). That gave me a color dark enough and different enough to do the job.

This was my first attempt to frame a canvas. Unfortunately even though the painted area of my canvas measured 16×20 with an additional unpainted 2†beyond it too small to wrap around the frame. This was my first “advanced” paint by numbers, and I did not expect it to turn out so well. It looks just as advertised! Painting by numbers like this is a rather relaxing, meditative activity that can easily be done while chatting with friends or listening to music. This painting took me 11.5 hrs total to finish, but it is very easy to stop whenever you want and simply pick back up later. I had MORE than enough paint of each color and did not come close to running out. This particular sunflower painting uses a lot of odd, unique colors that somehow gel harmoniously with each other. It was fascinating to watch it all come together in the end. I bought the version that came pre-stretched over a wood frame, but honestly I found that I preferred painting with it flat on a table rather than propped on an easel. The numbers and shapes are printed on the canvas quite darkly which makes them easy to see but difficult to cover with certain colors (whites, yellows, and oranges). If you obsessively want to obscure every line then you will be applying 3-4 coats of some colors (but again, there is plenty of paint to do so). Also the small paint cups do require some force and dexterity to open which could be difficult for youngsters, people with arthritis, and such. Give it a try, and hopefully you will be as impressed as I was!

I’d never done this before and wasn’t sure what to expect, but knew I didn’t want to spend any more than I already had on this project. The frame worked well and there was some room for error, thank goodness! The instructions were not 100% clear (for example, the white strips/adhesive go to the outside, perhaps this is obvious to everyone else), but I was able to figure out and they final product looks great. I’m pleased, especially for the price, and I have no doubt that the next time I do it it should go fairly smoothly and quickly.

I used to love to paint by number when I was a child. It kept me busy for awhile. When this became available, I decided to get it for my daughter. She loves to draw and has quite a few art kits. However, painting is something still new to her. This was a good way to introduce her to it.
The canvas is nice and thick. The paints came tightly sealed/closed in small containers and well labeled to match up with the numbers on the canvas. The colors are vivid enough. The brush was a bit lacking, but not enough to take away a star. This was fun to do for my daughter, not only because it easy to get going/finish, but because the picture, cats, is one of her obsessions.
