I really enjoyed doing this little paint project. It is small and comes stapled around a wooden frame. When it was complete I decided it looked a little too much like it belonged in a young girls room, so I did not hang it. It was fun to work on. I think a young person age 7-11 would probably really love this as a gift. The colors in the photo were not the same as the tones in the paints supplied with the canvas. If the colors were more like the photo I don’t think it would have looked so much like it belonged in a child’s room.

I was quoted $125 by JoAnn’s to put stretcher bars on a small canvas I purchased in Curacao. I found this product online that enabled me to do it myself for a fraction of the cost. It was so easy to use (done in ~ 10 min) and my canvas looks fantastic. I’m never going back to JoAnn’s for framing canvas again. BTW, I’m an adhesives and tapes scientist, and I can say that their selection of tape for bonding wood to canvas is very good. Meaning, it bonds quickly and firmly (e.g. don’t try to remove the bar once placed, the adhesive is strong bonding). The release liner was a little bit tighter than I would have liked, but the liner didn’t tear upon removal. I highly recommend this product.

It felt like it was printed on the wrong side – the smooth side was underneath.
Paint was runny and thin
The numbers were so dark – good as I didn’t need a magnifying glass 🔎 bad as I had to cover them 3 x with the oranges and lighter colors.

I’m using these brushes mainly for smoothing colored-pencil drawings, as well as detail work on scale models. They’ve performed well after several uses, with roughly 4 cumulative hours on the most used brushes. I haven’t noticed a loss of bristles or anything that would amount to a quality issue. The brush is comfortable in the hand, has a decent weight to it, without feeling terrible unbalanced. If I had to replace these today, I wouldn’t have issues buying these again.

I did get this on sale – not sure if I would’ve paid full price BUT! it’s really amazing. I sent in a photo of our dog and it came with stretched canvas, all the paints, brushes, a guide, and photo of what it will look like when it’s done. I enjoyed doing this. I feel like they could have done better, though. The numbers were too dark for the lighter colors, some spaces didn’t have any number so i had to guess. They could have smoothed out the colors before they pushed print so I didn’t have a million little dots and hooks and s***. They also gave me way too much paint but not enough in two of them. I’ll try a different brand next.

I did one of my cat and ordered another (just finished last night) of my sister’s dog. These kits are VERY easy to do and come out looking great! The only thing I can’t figure out, and I read this in another review, pictures with a lot of white end up with a lot of green. I guess it’s to give it shading, but on the second one, I painted over quite a bit of the green with whites and grays to make it look more like the original.

This will make a very beautiful painting when it’s done. The canvas is folded so you may want to do something about flattening or stretching it on a frame before you start. Stretching onto a frame is kind of necessary to start with if you wish to paint on an easel instead of a flat table but you can do that too then frame. There is an ample amount of paint to complete the project and the instructions on the back of the box are fairly easy to understand also.

Simple and effective way to display art printed on fabric such as fleece or Minky. I use nearly an entire yard 36″ by 54″ but I was fortunate in advance that I had printed a large border around the art and this allowed me to use 32″ by 48″ Frame Kit and have a couple inches left over on the long side to trim off. I recommend making sure there is enough room to lay the art face down without getting it damage and to be able to maneuver around the work would have helped. I just used a bed and because of the looseness of the surface and therefore art, I had to loosen one side of the art from the frame and pull it taut and then reattach it. I can see where a less porous surface as fleece cloth where this might be really stuck and cause a problem. The glue was just right to let go and then attach again and press firmly to seal. It ended up tight with the frame light and the system of tape held it remarkably square. I also had the problem I read mentioned of the staple corner braces stuck together, but was able to separate them without harming myself. I also it’s important to know which way the bars go, which should be obvious if paying attention and that is wide sticky tape down and more narrow sticky tape facing the outside of work area. The only thing not perfect with finished was I had cut one corner too close to the frame that is to go between the corner and this exposed one corner of the frame. I repaired it by spliced some of my cut material on that spot and it’s not very noticeable .
