The products worked perfectly for Carnival Cruise 16″ x 20″ photo canvas. But the instruction sheet that came with it was not clear. So I wrote my own instructions. I had a total of 6 canvases to work on.

This was so easy to assemble and make a canvas look professional. I used it to frame a paint by number canvas. Like other reviewers complained the staples are stuck together – I used a flat head screw driver to break them apart (butter knife or any flat object would work) which wasn’t a big deal and far from “defectiveâ€.

Get your Zen on,This was my first paint by numbers. Very different from what I remember from childhood! It was very relaxing and engrossing- I lost track of time as I painted. Loved the finished product so much I had it professionally framed and hung it in my room. One star off for some paints that were a bit dry and not having a gridded map to refer to when the numbers were not clear (so many tiny areas made up the tree, it was easy to lose sight of some of the pattern). I have started on my second painting- paint is all smooth and the grid has proven really helpful. Will definitely do more.

Beautiful Garden Scene,This one was my first PBN. I enjoyed the process but I wouldn’t recommend this particular image for beginners. I say this because I’ve gone on to do 2 more PBN and this one was definitely more on the “detailed†side. That being said, it’s definitely doable and I have learned that patience is important no matter which image you choose!

Once I got all the pieces (half of it was missing the first go around) it was incredibly easy to put together the perfect stretched canvas. I was amazed actually at how easy it was and how beautiful the end product looks. Roses Are Red,Some tips I learned along the way:
1. Take a photo of the canvas on your phone before you start, so you can refer back to it and zoom in to see small numbers. I also kept a magnifying glass nearby for the same reason.
2. Buy your own brushes
3. Be sure to cover the lines on the first pass so you don’t have to go back and touch this up. That said, some lighter colors require a second coat in any case.
4. Be sure you have considered the price of framing, as it can increase the total cost of the project substantially. In my case, it added another $150.

This was my first “advanced” paint by numbers, and I did not expect it to turn out so well. It looks just as advertised! Painting by numbers like this is a rather relaxing, meditative activity that can easily be done while chatting with friends or listening to music. This painting took me 11.5 hrs total to finish, but it is very easy to stop whenever you want and simply pick back up later. I had MORE than enough paint of each color and did not come close to running out. This particular sunflower painting uses a lot of odd, unique colors that somehow gel harmoniously with each other. It was fascinating to watch it all come together in the end. I bought the version that came pre-stretched over a wood frame, but honestly I found that I preferred painting with it flat on a table rather than propped on an easel. The numbers and shapes are printed on the canvas quite darkly which makes them easy to see but difficult to cover with certain colors (whites, yellows, and oranges). If you obsessively want to obscure every line then you will be applying 3-4 coats of some colors (but again, there is plenty of paint to do so). Also the small paint cups do require some force and dexterity to open which could be difficult for youngsters, people with arthritis, and such. Give it a try, and hopefully you will be as impressed as I was!

Flower,The only tricky part for me was mounting the canvas before I started. I had to find the right size stretcher bars (cheap and readily available online) and wrestle with the canvas and a staple gun. But it was worth the trouble, and much cheaper than getting it done by a professional.

I had some canvas paintings that needed to be framed a got a professional quote for about $600. I ended up framing the paintings (a lot more than in the picture) myself with these frame kit for much less. The kit was easy to use and final outcome was very impressive. I did end up using a staple gun to ensure the canvas stayed put but then again I cut my canvas shorter than recommended by the seller. I also ordered custom sizes and Goodartstory’s response and delivery was prompt. Both regular and custom sizes worked worked perfectly!

Monet Poppy Fields,I have thoroughly enjoyed my pandemic time with PBN. This one was particularly enjoyable. BUT the color guide has me very confused with the sky. I notice the finished rendition indicates a buff sky in the upper left while mine a medium blue. Not pleased with a green sky? Am trying to blend for a more realistic look. Anyone else confounded with this? The acrylic paints makes it easy to change colors if you wish. As you can see I’m not quite finished. Nearly there.

 Well, I found a new hobby for my colorblind husband! He was thrilled when I gave this painting to him, it was pretty adorable. He’s never been able to see colors – he basically sees most things in shades of brown, red, and grey. I’ve accepted that he won’t ever be able to see the color purple or pink or that when the sky is blue its just a brighter white to him… But to him, being colorblind is all he knows, he knows no difference. Having something to paint that incorporates so many colors when he can’t see them has been truly enjoyable for him, because he knows that the colors are in the “right” places so the painting will turn out amazing. He has always been hesitant to do artistic things because he’s worried that he will not get the colors right. Not this time!
As far as the painting itself… the canvas is big! Bigger than I actually pictured even though it says the size on the description. But that allows for so many details and colors. Some of these details are verrry tiny, so I’m buying him a magnifying light, too. He’s using his headlamp in the video 😠I’m not sure how long it will take him to finish the painting, but I have a feeling, since he’s such a perfectionist, that it may be a while. The nice thing is that now we can do creative things together ⤠This is a wonderful gift for someone that is patient and detail oriented. Or maybe even colorblind like my husband! Either way, its a delight.

I looked all over online at these kits and they all seemed to require a month or more for delivery and were twice the price. I decided on this on instead due to fast shipping and I was impressed. I think I got it in about a week or less. The picture looked great, most paints were good for covering (only a couple needed two coats), and the colors were for the most part correct.
