Was actually really really pleased with this. I have almost zero painting experience but had a long three day weekend on my own and on a whim ordered this kit. I picked it over others because it came pre-framed (it looks like a bunch of others is just the canvas and then you have to stretch it over a frame – no thank you!) and it comes with an easel which just made me feel more “painterly”. Overall painting experience 10/10. My only quibble was that there were not instructions on how to assemble the easel so I mostly just figured it out after fussing around with it a bit. Fair warning, you’ll need a screw driver.

This is an impressionist type painting, so you have to step back to see it clearly. I like to paint these for stress relief and this one did a great job of that. It turned out so pretty that my friends tell me they like it best. Colorful and fun to look at, pretty and romantic, and fun to paint. Only thing I would have done differently is buy it already on a wooden frame because I’ve discovered that where I live, it’s super expensive to have it framed. I did one of my cat and ordered another (just finished last night) of my sister’s dog. These kits are VERY easy to do and come out looking great! The only thing I can’t figure out, and I read this in another review, pictures with a lot of white end up with a lot of green. I guess it’s to give it shading, but on the second one, I painted over quite a bit of the green with whites and grays to make it look more like the original.

This will make a very beautiful painting when it’s done. The canvas is folded so you may want to do something about flattening or stretching it on a frame before you start. Stretching onto a frame is kind of necessary to start with if you wish to paint on an easel instead of a flat table but you can do that too then frame. There is an ample amount of paint to complete the project and the instructions on the back of the box are fairly easy to understand also.

The packaging made me think I was opening something really special. I’m not saying these are not special, but the packaging was like a Russian nesting doll. When I finally got to the brushes, they were the same as other brushes offered for roughly the same price.
The MOST important thing to remember is to, after you wash them, use your fingers to reform them into their shape, and let them dry brush up, if you allow paint to dry on them they may not reform.
