Really happy I purchased two of these to mount a couple of canvas paintings from a local artist.
You have to pay attention to what you’re doing, but instructions are straight-forward and the process is pretty easy to follow.
Neither of the canvas I mounted were completely flat. Each had some shallow waves in them, but stretching and mounting them on this frame got rid of 96% of the waves.
Five minutes after mounting you have to really look close to see any imperfections in the surface of the canvas. I’m very happy with the results, but I suspect as the fabric adjusts over the next couple of days it will continue to flatten out.

Although the results were good, ironing out deep creases in folded canvas and stretching onto stretcher bars was a bit difficult. Used 16†x 19†bars. Due to small amount of extra fabric. Numbers very small, but not unusual I am finding. One or two paints were so thin that areas needed 4-5 coats to cover numbers. Love final product despite challenges.

This was my first time to stretch a canvas print. It was really easy to do with this kit. But I did not like was how difficult it was to get apart the large staple shaped clips for the corners. They were glued together (reminded me of a strip of staples one puts into a stapler or staple gun) with some pretty strong glue. I had to wedge a small screwdriver between each one to get them apart. On the other hand, I feel that the glue strips on the wooden pieces, which are supposed to hold the canvas in place, are not strong enough for a permanent hold. So, I used staples to make sure it does not come apart.
While I liked this kit, I was disappointed by the issue with the corner clips. The glue strips not being strong is probably okay, especially if one would need to remove one or more of the pieces from the canvas to realign them.

I love my painting. It was perfect for the past couple of months. I also got one for my 8 year old, which is why I ordered it in the first place. I typed in paint by numbers for 8 year olds. I’m not at all inclined artistically. Tried color books a while ago and it just didn’t work out. I guess I’m either too impatient or ADD. Saw this cute paint by numbers and decided to give it a try. I did buy a separate set of brushes, since most of these sets come with only 3 not very versatile brushes. And have to say it was a fun pass-time activity! Turned out better than expected and I found it to be actually relaxing. There are a lot of easier, beginner paintings out there, but I had to try this one out simply because I think it’s adorable.

I had a canvas painting without frame. Followed the instructions (carefully). It works great. The canvas stretched very nicely. (I also lightly misted the back of the canvas with water and used a blow dryer to further tighten the fabric. Just a blow dryer can warm canvases and help tighten the fabric.) The second time will be even easier! You need to use some sort of ‘square’ on the inside corners to aid the assembly. The easiest is to cut poster board to the exact size of frame, and use it as a guide. Either way it works great!

Very challenging, tiny bits to paint, it’s so fun, painting through it all. Comes folded in small package so a warm iron on back with a little water spray will take creases out. Stretch paint.. I keep water near for keeping brushes clean and to keep paint very slightly thinned. Check paint pod covers to make sure they are on tight.

The only problem I’ve had with the paint by numbers kits, is that the canvases are sent folded into little squares. The canvases have deed heavy folds in them. I’ve found a cotton setting on my iron gets most of them out. Other than that have been a good distraction while in Covid lockdown.

I was very pleased with my Nicpro brushes – at first. But now that I’ve used them for a while, I find they are just like other brushes. The bristles are separating making it almost impossible to get nice clean lines on my mini paintings. I’m very careful with how I clean them. I’m getting very frustrated!!!

My teenagers have been obsessed with paint by number kits. This one is beautiful. I wouldn’t recommend for a young child unless they are very patient and coordinated because it takes many hours and a steady hand. All needed materials are included. Great to get your teens off their devices!
